Introduction to Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

Have you or your family members experienced intense emotional reactions? Have you ever wondered how to better manage these emotional reactions so you can continue to engage in your day-to-day activities? IAM is inviting you to learn about Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) – a therapeutic intervention that is centred on working with individuals who experience emotional dysregulation, which may appear as substance use, bipolar disorder and/or other mood disorders.
DBT seeks to increase an individual's ability to tolerate intense emotions and manage distressing situations to help form and sustain healthier interpersonal relationships. To learn more about DBT and acquire helpful skills, join us for this introductory webinar on January 26.
This virtual webinar will cover the following:
  • The main theories that inform DBT
  • The evidence and benefits of using DBT
  • The components, modules and skills taught in DBT
  • DBT-related resources available in Ontario
